New (and improved) online registration system!

This year we have moved the booking system and the fundraising pages onto the same system. The whole system should be a lot easier to use and comes with a built in fundraising page. However it does mean you must register here first- event if you have already registered on the Edinburgh Marathon website, otherwise we can’t allocate you a charity place! It’s a fairly simple process which takes about five minutes from start to finish but we are not able to do this for you. You can run the full or half marathon as an individual or split the 26 miles between a team of four by signing up to the Hairy Haggis relay.

If you are a Hairy Haggis team captain you can book a team place on your own and invite the rest of your to sign up afterwards.

The online fundraising page allows you to invite friends and family to sponsor you using a secure payment portal (you can still collect donations by cash or cheque.) Sponsors and team mates can post messages of support on your fundraising “wall” and you can link your page to facebook and twitter, upload photos and videos and compare your teams fundraising efforts with your rival runners.

If you have a Facebook account you can now tell your friends all about the charity you are running for by “liking” Renewable World. We have also uploaded pictures of the amazing project in Ndiriri that running4renewables supported last year, so if you took part last year, you can see where the money you raised went. Why not persuade your Facebook friends to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival by inviting them to the running4renewables event!

Hello

and welcome to the running4renewables new look website. Encouraged by the success of last years event – together we raised nearly £30,000!!! – running4renewables is back for 2011 and we hope to make it bigger and better this year. We are welcoming back our volunteers from last year as well as new volunteers from the industry. Thank you for visiting this website as a first step, I hope you will find the content inspirational and informative, and that you will be encouraged to join our growing initiative to help raise funds for the fantastic work of Renewable World!

Like last year the main running4renewbles event where a large number of volunteers will be present will be at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on the 22nd May. So if you want to finally tick that box of doing a marathon, or you think doing the hairy haggis relay race will be a good team building exercise, we welcome you to visit the volunteer section now! And please remember to pass information of the initiative on to everybody you know in the renewables energy industry, we know there are many budding runners out there that would like to participate in the events in Edinburgh on the 22nd May.

With a great many thanks to Renewable World, Mel and Jen in particular, the registration process for signing up to an event is now a simple one stop shop! So please register now and start fundraising!

This year we will be providing regular email updates as well as blog posts to keep all you running enthusiasts up to date with whats going on! and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
